Mr Chris Ogden is a Consultant Urologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Trust. Having completed his general urological training, Mr Ogden undertook two fellowship years in Urological Oncology at the Charing Cross Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital and visited leading Oncological Centres in the United States. He was appointed consultant Urologist at Northwick Park and St Mark's Hospital NHS Trust for 6 years prior to his recent appointment at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. His specific interests lie in urological malignancy, ileo-orthotopic bladder substitution following radical cystectomy for invasive bladder cancer in men and women and both nerve sparing retro pubic and perineal radical prostatectomy. He also has an interest in minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopic surgery, robotics and cryotherapy of the prostate.

Mr Ogden has considerable research interests. His principal research interests have been in the molecular biology of bladder and prostate cancer. This research has led to the discovery of novel genes preferentially expressed in bladder and prostate cancer that may prove to be both a diagnostic and a therapeutic target. He has also been involved in the monoclonal targeting of oncological tumors in terms of staging urological malignancies and their treatment. His thesis was in the development of microwave technology for the treatment of prostatic disorders. He has also been involved in the investigation of the role of dentritic cell response in bladder cancer.
